本学科／学域について Department and Graduate School 多彩なデザイン領域と高度な工学領域の融合 Fusion of Various Design Areas and Advanced Engineering Areas 当学科／学域は、理工系学部・研究科の中にあるデザインコースとして、またプロダクト系とメディア系の幅広いデザイン分野が共存する学科として、世界的にも非常にユニークな存在です。デザインとはただ形をつくるにとどまらず、コンセプト提案、しくみ構築機能の調整統合など、新しいモノやコトを生み出す作業における上流段階での重要な役割を担うものであるとの位置付けから、デザイナーには専門職的なアプローチのみならず、ものづくりの指揮官の役割が社会から期待されています。システムデザイン学部ウェブサイトにも本学科の説明が記載されておりますのでそちらも合わせてご参照ください。 Our department/academic area is unique in the world as a design course within the faculty and the graduate school of science and engineering and a department where a wide range of product and media design fields coexist. 2つのコア・分野、12のスタジオによる構成 2 Cores, 12 Studios 学部の最大の特徴は、次世代や近未来の実現を目指すさまざまなシステムを、数理的、システム工学的にアプローチし、そこに人間の感性を重視したデザイン工学的なアプローチを加えた総合教育・研究をするという点にあり、この学部の中にあって、私達の学科は学部の特色を最大限に生かし、美術系大学など他大学のデザイン系学科とは一線を画した独自の人材育成を目指しています。当学科・学域は、「プロダクトデザイン」と「メディアアート」の2つのコア・分野を柱に、12のスタジオで構成されています。各スタジオが扱う専門領域は新しいものづくりと情報メディアにまたがって多様に連携しつつ新しい価値の創造を展開していきます。 The faculty’s most distinctive feature is that it provides comprehensive education and research on various systems that aim to be realized in the next generation and near future by taking a mathematical and systems engineering approach and a design engineering approach that emphasizes human sensitivity. In this department, we aim to develop unique human resources by making the most of the department’s characteristics and distinguishing ourselves from design departments in other universities such as art universities. Our department consists of 12 studios with two core fields of “Product Design” and “Media Art”. Each studio’s area of expertise spans new manufacturing and information media, and they work together to create new value. 現代社会が求める幅広い知見をもったデザイナーの育成 Society today needs designers ready to think big このような社会の要請に応えられる新しいタイプのデザイナー、およびそれに関わる研究者の育成を目指すために、「デザイン」という専門分野だけにとどまらず、理工系から人文・社会系まで、プロダクト系からメディア系まで、幅広い領域に対する興味と知見を有し、それらを総動員して新しいタイプのデザインを創生する人材を育成しています。インダストリアルアート学科・学域の就職実績は IA進路検索ページ も合わせてご参照ください。 In order to develop new types of designers and researchers who can respond to the demands of society, we nurture human resources who have interests and knowledge in a wide range of fields, not only in “design”, from science and technology to the humanities and social sciences, and from products to media, and who can create new types of design by mobilizing all of these.
